Iscove’s Modified Dulbecco’s Medium (IMDM)

Iscoves media are enriched modifications of DMEM containing sodium selenite. They are excellent for rapidly proliferating high-density cell cultures. The addition of BSA, purified human transferring and soybean lecithin creates serum free condition ideal for supporting B and T lymphocytes. IMDM was the first media utilizing HEPES buffer. Other cell types can be cultured using this medium under serum free or reduced serum conditions.
